On Saturday morning June 18, 2005 Kathy Allen from Cochlear Americas will be presenting the most up to date information about the new Freedom implant system recently approved by the FDA and now available at all CI Centers. Our meeting will be in a slightly different format to accommodate the availability of our popular speaker. Please plan to attend this special meeting to receive the important information Kathy has to share. The launch of new Freedom implant system will affect many of us who have the older Nucleus technology as well as be of interest to those seeking information regarding the newest implant technology. Plan to join us to find out what exciting changes the future holds!

Our next meeting will be August 16th. The topic is “How Relationships Change” as a result of one person receiving a cochlear implant after many years of deafness or hearing loss. We promise you this will be an interesting meeting!

CDHH has invited all WICI Chapter members to attend their Picnic in the Park on June 26th from Noon to 3:00 pm at Wirth Park in Brookfield. For more information contact CDHH at (262)790-1040 (V) or (888)742-7951 (TTY). Please plan to attend and do seek out CDHH staff to thank them for their ongoing support of our chapter. Some of you will be attending the SHHH convention in Washington DC, but if you can, please make attending the CDHH picnic part of your summer plans.

Please share the information about this meeting and do plan to bring a friend or family member. Coffee and donuts will be provided. Closed Captioning is also provided for this meeting courtesy of Cochlear Americas.

For more information contact Carol Burns @ cburns@cdhh.org or by phone 608-832-6332

We thank Milwaukee Otologic and Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing for their generous support!
